AsianD8 – Fighting back Against Online Fraud

Sunday, January 8th, 2012

(PRWEB) December 24, 2011

There has been a steady stream of negative publicity engulfing the online dating industry in the latter part of 2011 centering around online fraud. Organised crime syndicates, often located outside of the UK, have become sophisticated in their methods to extrapolate money from unsuspecting online dating users. This is frequently achieved by building relationships with the an online dater and then creating elaborate scenarios where the victim is lead into a trap, and made to feel like they are the only one who can help.

There have been 730 complaints reported to the Police over the past 15 months with losses totalling ?8 million ranging from ?50 to ?240,000. However, research suggests that the crime is bigger than reported. A study undertaken by the universities of Westminster and Leicester, working with the Serious Organised Crime agency, discovered that 2% of people (interviewed) personally knew someone who had encountered a fraudster via an online dating website.

The trend in online dating scams has not gone unnoticed in the media either, with stories making the front page news in the UK. This news has been severely detrimental to the dating industry which had made significant inroads towards reducing cynicism to an industry worth $ 4 billion. It also comes as a warning to the online dating industry for the need to counter these alarming trends.

One company that has been at the forefront of such measures to put a stop to online dating scams has been AsianD8. The companies ethos has been to for its customers to interact in a safe environment. Sujan Shah, spokesman for the company, felt that AsianD8 was in their opinion the safest Asian dating website in the UK.

The company has partnered with one of the leading identity verification agencies which utilizes a range of sophisticated tools to check a person’s identity. This essentially ensures that the person is who they claim they are. Using identity checking software isn’t common practise in the dating industry as it can be quite costly, however, AsianD8 are committed to investing in technology to create barriers against online fraud and create the safest Asian dating website in the UK.

AsianD8 is also one of the very few dating websites which encourages its members to call the UK customer service team. This adds further security by allowing members to report anyone they feel may not be legitimately using the website.

AsianD8 is the largest Asian singles website in the UK with in excess of 35,000 registered UK members. The company operates under Global D8 Ltd and has been in existence since 2007.

Fighting Back Against Scammers? Scammed.us Launches

Denville, NJ (PRWEB) October 3, 2007

Scammed.us is a new free service that allows members to create their own domain in order to make sure that others know of their unfortunate scam. Users simply register, file a report, and then create a sub domain such as scammersname.scammed.us. It is as simple as that.

Members use that free sub domain to let others know of the scammers that were involved. Users can put in specific details, names, addresses, and anything that the feel is helpful to let others know to stay away from those people.

Users of Scammed.us can use a variety of tools that will allow them to be more in depth with the scamming report. These include image hosting for screen shots, as well as photos proving they were scammed. They can provide live links so that when people click on it they know to stay away from that particular site.

Everyday, more and more people are using http://www.scammed.us as a way of letting the world know that if they plan on doing business with someone that they should check them out first. So far there are only a few scamming reports but this website is going to be huge, especially with the amount of online fraud that goes on in today’s Internet. It is unfortunate that the Internet would need such a site such as Scammed.us, but there are always going to be crooks out there looking to make an easy buck.

This is not a website in for people to bash others they do not like. The reports must be filed honestly in order to make the most of this innovative website. If a member has been scammed it is a great idea to file there simply because when people do their research these days the scammers will be found at scammed.us. That means if someone were scammed by ABC freelance and a search is done on about ABC freelance, then chances are they will come up with a scam report about them. Once they read that, then they will reconsider giving any business to ABC freelance and the job will be done. Members will have successfully helped just one more person to save their money from a total scam. Stay at home mom going back to work next year and scared to death?

Before I became a mom I could get jobs but then I would quit if I didnt like it or etc. My husband paid all the bills and my money was just for spending anyway. Then I had our first child went to school to become a CNA and got hired making 8. 50 an hour. My babysitter changed her mind after I told her that I started the next week and I had noone else to watch her for me so I had to turn down the job. Now I have 2 kids stay at home have been for 6 years. I dont stay in touch w/ anyone I use to work with so I dont have anyone to use as references. If I did get a job I would have to work days and off weekends. My husband works 12 hours shifts everyday day shift of course and off every other weekend. I am scared that if I work that something will happen to my kids and I will end up having to quit. Its only me I have no family or close friends my world evolves around our 2 kids so I dont make time to socialize. My jobs I had before staying at home the longest I worked was 1 year.

New mom – stay at home or back to work? How can I make money & keep my sanity if I do decide to stay at home?

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Image taken on 2009-01-13 17:10:18 by jelene.
I have a newborn at home. My husband and I’m sure if I would go back to work full time, part time or stay home. They tend to stay home, because I do not want a nanny to raise my children. If I stay at home ay if money will be very tight and I would also miss the adult interaction work. And “stupid of me to believe that the quality of spending years with my son is more important than not having to worry about money? I think I wonder 1) if anyone has experience to jump into the world to stay at home mom, or 2) if anyone has any experience of working from home?
