Small Business Website Development - Your Future

Small business website development, how to do it the fun way.

In the time that I have been using the Internet, (since 1997) I have been around a lot of websites.

I have visited many quality sites and I have seen a lot of sites that the owners can't be proud of.

Here are some things to consider before you start your small business website development.

What is the purpose of your website?

Do you aim at a pure sales site or is your target to be an infopreneur?

When you have decided your website's purpose, you need to pick a topic or a theme.

There is nothing worse than arrive to a website and have no clue what the site is about.

Make a list of your hobbies and things that you are interested in

Your small business website development is something you do for your bright future.

Therefore when you pick your theme, you will thank yourself every day in the future, if you pick from your list of hobbies and things you are interested in.

Once you have written your list down, you need to do some research.

Use the excellent free search tool Search It to do your theme research.

In step one choose brainstorming, step two choose Yahoo keyword selector tool.

Read the help before step three and four.

Type in your topic main keyword and look at the list of searches done for your topics keywords.

If you see quite a lot of searches and many keyword phrases it look promising.

Next you choose competition in step one, Google keyword supply in step two, again check the help before step three and four.

Now you have demand and supply for your theme and you want high demand and low supply figures.

Research the topics from your theme list until you find one you are satisfied with.

You need a hosting company to host your website

Free Web space is fine for personal websites, but if you are serious about making money online you want to look for a professional web host.

The reason behind this is that the free stuff is polluted by commercial pop ups and other ads.

Therefore you will not be able to list your site in some of the necessary directories.

And you will not be able to develop and edit your website as you wish.

With a paid web host you will also be able to choose your own important domain name.

How do you put your content on the world wide web?

You can either learn how to do this yourself or you can hire someone to do it for you.

That desicion is of course depending very much of your budget.

In order to be found, your site need to be promoted

By far most important is to optimize your site for search-engines.

You need to submit your site to relevant directories.

You can also write articles to submit in article directories.

trade links with relevant sites.

This is by all means not a complete step by step guide to your small business website development.

But it might get you to take the most important step of them all - get started!

What's that? How I took the first step?

Well, I happened to stumble at an all in one provider, web hosting, website development, search-engine optimization, web promotion and every thing one need to do a small business website development.

It's called Site Build It! They take care of all the technical stuff and let me do the fun part!

Have a quick tour see how easy it is!

There are a number of all in one providers out there, but none of them can show the results that Site Build It! do!

Whatever your choice may be, good luck!
