Phew. I just have breakfast on the table for my child in preschool and I can sit at my computer for a minute. I can finally check my morning mail. “Mom!” I ran to the kitchen. Cherrios is all over the floor and now I feel the baby wakes up. Little does the customer know the other side of the computer that this email will have to wait for an unpredictable period of time today. Oh, life in the mother-at-home job! Can relate to?
Then in the affair to myself, I really had to step back on more than one occasion and rethink about my priorities. How could I put my family first, but still my dream to build my business? Yes, I think I came up with some answers that have worked well for me.
1st Sacrifice means giving more
Since I know that when my children start the day, my day will speed up as the second wake. This leaves me time to practice working for companies. And I learned that in my situation, that’s OK! That is not why I chose to be home, in the first place? That sometimes means that I must sacrifice some of my time early in the morning before the rest of my family wakes up. I can guarantee that if I wake up 2-3 hours before the rest of the alarms go off at home, the hours are filled with real, solid work. It is a great way to start my morning, I knew I could answer the important emails, new contacts, writing ads and doing other important work that needs to be done. Sacrifice a bit of sleep means I give more of myself and my family.
2nd Turn off the computer
When my children are at home, I learned that I had to shut down the computer. They need to know by my actions that I am there to talk about their day, help with homework, or take them wherever they go. I think that when the computer is completely off, so I have not tried to work on it and keep on with the business when I have a million things going right in front of me. This was not always an easy thing to do, but I bet this is worth it.
3rd Hours tea
If you can specify a few hours for you to spend on the job, then you can try to forget at other times of the day. I am a stay at home mom of one month to 7 years and I’m trying to earn an additional income for my family. The problem is all the work at home oppurtunities are not reliable, I really do not have money to invest in them. I do not have enough space for baby unfortauntly. I try not to make lots of money, a few hundred more a month would be fine by me. Any ideas? I’m lucky enough to run successful business with my husband as head of the office from home while watching my very bright and precocious almost-walking son 11 months old. So far, everything looks rosy and was ahead of the pack. But I worry him tired now, when I’m working on the computer or on a business call. He is self-soothing and play well by himself, without whining. He socialize well with other children in play dates and the local playground. I just need some ideas on new things that can cause ordered him inside the house – things that I can play with him and the things you can work on yourself. Hello everyone! This is for Sahm as working mothers. Before I became a mom I could get jobs but then I would quit if I didnt like it or etc. My husband paid all the bills and my money was just for spending anyway. Then I had our first child went to school to become a CNA and got hired making 8. 50 an hour. My babysitter changed her mind after I told her that I started the next week and I had noone else to watch her for me so I had to turn down the job. Now I have 2 kids stay at home have been for 6 years. I dont stay in touch w/ anyone I use to work with so I dont have anyone to use as references. If I did get a job I would have to work days and off weekends. My husband works 12 hours shifts everyday day shift of course and off every other weekend. I am scared that if I work that something will happen to my kids and I will end up having to quit. Its only me I have no family or close friends my world evolves around our 2 kids so I dont make time to socialize. My jobs I had before staying at home the longest I worked was 1 year.
