When I went to my local Borders, I cast a quick glance at the new book section and saw Gladwell new “Messianic Verses.” With a copy of his penultimate book, “outliers” still fresh on my shelf, I took with enthusiasm “Saw That Dog” and sat down with a cup of coffee, Seattle’s Best.Come I got about halfway chapter Ron Popeil, “I mumbled , “Wait a minute,” I chose a biography wrong? I moved to Chapter Nassim Taleb, who was a bit “more interesting, perhaps because of my particular interest in the subject (I work in finance). I began to browse through the book in frustration trying to get close to everything would stimulate my intellect (as in previous books ). I have to say, read reviews, I doubt it lands on a fictional “Cult of Gladwell” buried. If you’re looking for a review of the content here, I’m sorry I can not do that, I received two CDs long scratches that causes them to jump and hang. The disturbance of CDs in boxes stacked 2×2 drive must stop. Many audio book publishers are doing this to increase profits and reduce costs. Two dollars I will pay more for CDs that are useful! All pieces in “What the Dog Saw” came from Gladwell previous articles published in The New Yorker and is grouped into three categories – the madmen and minor genes (eg, Ron Popeil, the Chop-O-Matic fame), theories (eg, homelessness, financial scandals), and request information about the weather we do on humans. I made a serious attempt to like this book, Gladwell later, after briefly speaking a word that I like during the scan of the book at Costco – investments. “No luck. There are two problems with a book by Gladwell. 1) It addresses the issues of minimum interest or impact. (Who cares why Mustard is now available in dozens of varieties, but ketchup is still the same? When Ron Popeil – I hate sellers, most of them spend their lives in order to convince people to do things not really want to do, or should not do. 2) Gladwell adds something good for the world while considering these issues unnecessary. (It is not surprising if you think about it .) I’ve been away, but with a renewed understanding of why I never liked “The New Yorker – even when bored to death waiting for my parents to leave l ‘at the home of one of his friends. With regard to Gladwell, I have no intention of trying to read his material more – someone would take his pen and paper, notebooks, desktop computers, typewriters, Dictaphone and secretary away.
