I am trying to sell a dry cleaning service to local businesses. Can anybody tell me the best selling technique

I am not interested in cold calling at all, as the success rate does not justify the negative good will and time spent. What I am interested in doing is live marketing, by visiting the business. I’d appreciate help from someone who did this with any type of a B2B service, specifically the fashion and the method you used to sell the service. Thanks!!

I don’t know the area where your business is, but going door-to-door is going to be tough. Try some PR. It’s relatively simple on a local basis. Get the name and phone #’s of all the local newspapers and magazines – especially business publications. Call and get the names and email addresses of the business editors for each publication.
Then do a little research on the net on how to write a press release – it’s pretty straight forward. You can send them a press release on the services your dry cleaning service offers, and you can even call some of the business editors to see if they might want to do a human interest type of story on you personally, and your business. Perhaps you involved in local organizations, or are doing some goodwill types of activities in the community. You could work with an editor to try to tie a story about you and your business together to start building awareness.
Also, try the local chamber of commerce to see if they have lists of local businesses, and send them a simple business letter introducing your business, and offer a % off coupon for trying you out.
Good luck!
