I was little bit disappointed by this book, but it was because I haven’t read about it’s content. I thought that it will show how to find and grab nice ideas from everyday life, but that wasn’t the case. It is just a book with lot of screen shots of web pages although it is nicely divided into chapters. At the end of some chapter you can find sample color pallets with colors that goes well together (by authors opinion). If you want to be a copycat than you can grab some great ideas from pages mentioned in this book if the pages will still look the same when you visit them.

I was very surprised to see the contents of this book. Page after page of someone else’s designs. The text accompanying the images is bunch of random ideas thrown together with no purpose. I gave it two stars because I am planing on using some of the color groups presented in the book. As for getting anything out of it useful. . . I guess it’s a good two minute distraction on the toilet.

This is a very well organized and inspiring reference book for web designers. Patrick McNeil did a fantastic job of rounding up a thorough and eclectic mix of websites. A must have for any web designer.
