Once a Cowboy by Linda Warren February 11, 2007
3 scores. 5 Stars
ONCE a Cowboy is a captivating tale of a man who discovers that he is not who thinks he is. Alexandra Donovan works with her father as a private investigator, but sometimes you take missing persons cases like this. A woman, Helen Braxton, approaching her and asking for help in verifying the identity of a cowboy who believes her missing son, Travis. The similarity between the man her husband is worrying. Alexandra knows that these cases do not usually go, and Brodie Hayes probably missing child she was close to zero. Despite all odds, Alex agrees to investigate the case.
Alex decides he must find a way to get a sample of his DNA without him knowing that he is examining not want to disturb him if he is the son of Helen. She breaks into his house and pretend to have to use the phone while wandering lost in their neighborhood, and voila – you can find a comb with some of his hair in his bathroom. When test results came back positive, the fact that Brodie is the son of George and Helen Braxton, Alex is afraid of the reaction you get from Brodie, especially when he discovers that she has violated their privacy by stealing his comb to do DNA testing. She also is concerned about a family from one another, despite the fact that Brodie is really someone else’s child.
ONCE a Cowboy deals Brodie and her need to find himself and his true identity. He must also deal with a mother who is not in good health, who had lied to him and his now deceased father who had taken a child from another woman. He struggles with this moral dilemma, because despite all his life he felt was not quite in tune with the family, always trying to please but he was not as able to conduct their lives, but the woman who lifted liked him.
Alex has his own problems to deal with. She never got along with his father, who raised alone. She did not know what it was like having a mom and wish her and her father were close. At least he would have to agree with him. And while Alex’s father disapproves practices concerning the missing persons cases you (you get too emotionally involved), going against his advice once again and fall in love with Brodie.
reviewer enjoyed the story of a stolen children raised by parents who were not biologically related to him, and the effect held for all interested parties when the secret was out. But the chemical, which is apparently considered one of the two main characters, it seems to this reviewer. Where is evidence that in itself quite interesting and exciting for the reader to want to finish the book. The document was in a complicated way, since there were two groups of families were affected and made for an interesting book. But the love story between Alex and Brodie is not quite ring true, and it seemed that these two really had something to do together, no sense that Brodie would also like to be with a woman who gave him bad news. Once a Cowboy had a major identity-story about a man, but the novel was not as credible as this reviewer would have liked to be. – Courtesy of love novels and more – M. Lofton

simple. It’s a fast read with entertaining characters. . . Naddy love, she rocks! I liked the end, but I knew how it would end the first chapter. Not bad for a free book. If you’re looking for some easy it is fluff. This is one of the books you read after you have just read something really heavy and challenging, this book is not.

It is not credible or engaging romantic fiction. Read once, would never read it or recommend another person.

Read this while vacationing in the mountains. This is a new imagination and new private investigation. I really enjoyed it.

It was a pretty good read, especially since it was free. I live in the Dallas area so it was nice to know where the cities have been in history. I stopped reading romance books in 5 years. ago, but since this was a good price (free) I decided that I needed a break from my usual serial killer / murder mystery books.
course you know they are going to fall in love and live happy and content, but have some emotional barrier above before it happens.
